⭐️HALF WAY⭐️

. You might not recognise this deep side lunge as a traditional Warrior Pose but it is practiced during certain vinyasa flows. It is also sometimes known as Skandasana. This pose strengthens the core and increases flexibility in the hips and hamstrings. .

⭐️ALMOST HALF WAY⭐️

Humble Warrior is said to teach us surrender as we bow into the pose. Unlike the other warrior poses which open us up to the world, this forward bend variation allows us to draw our focus inwards. On a physical level it is a deep hip and shoulder opener. .

Reverse Warrior When held for a few breaths Reverse Warrior can give an amazing opening of the side body, releasing tension in the intercostal muscles around the ribs and allowing for a freer deeper breath. .

TONIGHT HOLCOMBE BROOK TENNIS CLUB.

Warrior 3, trains our focus and works the small muscles in the feet and ankles. Keeping a slight bend in the knee can help with balance and prevent the knee from locking. Think about shooting energy out through your back foot to help lift the leg. This pose can be practised with the arms in different positions: parallel with each other in front, out to the sides, slightly pointing back or with the palms together. .

Benefits: Improves Posture, Builds Leg Strength, Firms The Buttocks, Helps Tone the Abdomen, Improves Mental Focus and creates a sense of power. .

Warrior 2, requires lots of strength and stability, but also flexibility in the hips and upper body. This teaches us about one of the key principles of yoga asana practice; the balance of sthira and sukha or steadiness and ease.
(Sthira Sukham Asanam” is one of the most quoted Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. It means a yoga posture should be steady, firm and stable, yet also comfortable, light and delightful.) .

Benefits: This asana strengthens and stretches the legs and ankles. It also helps to thoroughly stretch the chest, lungs, groins, and shoulders. It helps to stimulate the abdominal organs and improves digestion. .

Warrior 1, named after the fierce warrior Virabhadra, who is said to symbolize our inner ability to overcome ego and ignorance. The warrior poses challenge and test us but in doing so bring us strength, focus, confidence and courage. .
. Standing with your feet hip-distance apart and your arms at your sides. Exhale as you step your feet wide apart, about 4 to 5 feet. Turn your right foot out 90 degrees, so your toes are pointing to the top of the mat. Pivot your left foot inwards at a 45-degree angle.Align your front heel with the arch of your back foot. Keep your pelvis turned toward the front of your mat.
Press your weight through your left heel. Then, exhale as you bend your right knee over your right ankle. Your shin should be perpendicular to the floor. Reach up strongly through your arms. Broaden across your belly, lengthen the sides of your waist, and lift through your chest. Keep your palms and fingers active and reaching. Gently tilt your head back and gaze up at your thumbs. Keep your shoulders dropped away from your ears. Feel your shoulder blades pressing firmly inward.

Benefits: stretches the whole front side of the body while strengthening the thighs, ankles, and back. This is a powerful standing pose that develops stamina, balance, and coordination. It tones the abdomen, ankles, and arches of the feet. This pose also stretches the chest and lungs, improving breathing capacity and invigorating the body. It can be therapeutic for sciatica. It also encourages greater flexibility, strength, and range of motion in the feet, increasing circulation as it warms all of the muscles.

Crescent Lunge is a warming and strengthening posture with So many benefits. We Incorporate this posture into our vinyasa flows. 🥰. .

Start in Downward Facing Dog pose. Lift the right leg and take it to the front of the mat, ground the foot in between the hands. Tuck the back toes under and straighten the back leg. Press the palms, fingers or fists into the floor to lift the crown of the head up towards the ceiling. Roll the shoulders down and back and press the chest forward. Look straight ahead with the chin parallel to the floor. Extend the back leg by pressing the heel towards the floor and by pressing the back of the knee up towards the ceiling. Relax the hips and let them sink down towards the floor.

Benefits: Strengthens legs, thighs, upper back muscles, shoulders, and arms, Lengthens spine and chest muscles, Stretches hip flexors (psoas) and quads and Increases stamina and energy while improving focus and circulation. .

Practice for 1 minute on each side. Repeat 3 times. Your hips will feel open and warm afterwards.

Let’s try 30 seconds on each side, repeat 5 times on each side. Make sure your body has been warmed up..... after a bath 😁💓. Or after exercise. .

Begin in warrior II pose with your right foot forward. Straighten your front knee and keep a micro-bend so the knee does not lock out. Exhale to send your left hip toward your back foot and hinge toward the front of your mat. Place your right hand on the ground, block, or shin. Reach your left hand toward the sky. Gently roll your left ribs back as you encourage your right ribs forward. Both sides of your torso should feel equal in length. Draw your tailbone down toward your left heel. Take your gaze toward your top hand if comfortable on your neck. Hold the pose for up to 60 seconds. Use an inhalation to bring yourself back up. .

. Wide-legged forward fold is a quick and easy pick-me-up if you’re feeling tired or having a stressful day, as it can help with headaches and fatigue by getting circulation moving to your brain.💕

A good gauge to measure the appropriate distance of the feet in this pose is to extend the arms out alongside the body; the feet should fall just beneath the wrists. .
. Feet parallel, hands on your hips. Lengthen up through your head. Spread and lift your toes to activate the muscles of your legs, and keep your legs active as you lengthen your toes back onto the floor. Press into the balls of your big toes and your outer heels. Keep the length in your spine, and press your feet apart from each other (as though you were stretching your mat in two) as you hinge forward from your hip creases (it’s fine to bend your knees as you do this). Bring all of your fingertips to the floor (or blocks) directly underneath your shoulders, and lengthen your spine forward. .

Benefits: Strengthens legs and back, Stretches groins, hamstrings, and hips, Can relieve headaches and mild back pain. Calms the mind. .
